Privacy & cookies

What we collect, and what we do not

This site sets no cookies unless you agree to analytics, and the only personal data it gathers is what you type into the enquiry form. The detail is below.

Who we are

The company responsible for your data

Logridge is the data controller for the information described here.

Logridge, 25 Cabot Square, Canary Wharf, London E14 4QZ, registered in England and Wales. You can reach us about anything on this page at Support@logridge.com.

What we collect

Two things, and only two

We do not buy data about you, and we do not build a profile of you across other websites.

What you send us. If you use the enquiry form we receive your name, company, email address, country, the commodity you are asking about and your message. The form will not submit without them, because an enquiry missing any one of them is not one we can answer. We also record the time and the IP address the enquiry came from, which is what lets us tell a genuine enquiry from automated spam.

Ordinary server records. Our host keeps standard web server logs: the pages requested, the time, the browser used and the IP address. These are kept by the host for its own security and diagnostics.

We do not ask for payment details anywhere on this site, and there is nowhere on it to create an account.

Why we are allowed to hold it

Our lawful basis

Under UK GDPR every use of personal data needs a stated basis. Here are ours.

Legitimate interests covers answering your enquiry and the correspondence that follows from it. If you write to a procurement firm asking about a commodity, replying to you is the obvious and expected use of what you sent. The same basis covers keeping the site secure and working.

Consent covers analytics, and nothing else. It is asked for plainly, it is refusable without penalty, and you can withdraw it at any time. Refusing changes nothing about the site.

Legal obligation covers the records we have to keep once you become a client, including the anti-money-laundering and know-your-customer checks our sector requires.

Cookies

None at all unless you say yes

This site sets no cookies of its own. It does not need them to work.

The only cookies this site can set are Google Analytics cookies, and they are not set unless you press Accept on the banner. Until you do, no request is made to Google and nothing about your visit reaches them. Declining, or simply ignoring the banner, means no analytics code loads at all.

We record your answer in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie, so that declining does not itself set the thing you declined. Clearing your browser storage for this site clears the answer and the banner returns.

If you accepted and want to change your mind, clear this site's data in your browser settings, or email us and we will tell you how for the browser you use.

Who else sees it

Our host, and Google only with your consent

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

Hostinger hosts this website and carries the enquiry emails. They process the data on our instructions.

Google receives analytics data about your visit, and only if you accepted the banner. This may involve transfer outside the UK under the safeguards Google publishes for its analytics service.

We will also disclose data where the law requires it, for example to a regulator or a court.

How long we keep it

As long as it is doing something

Data that has stopped being useful is a liability, not an asset.

Enquiries that do not lead anywhere are deleted within two years. Enquiries that become client relationships are kept for the life of the relationship and then for as long as tax, accounting and anti-money-laundering law requires us to hold them, which is normally six years from the end of the relationship.

Analytics data is held for the retention period set in our Google Analytics property. Server logs are held on our host's own schedule.

Your rights

What you can ask us to do

These are your rights under UK GDPR. Exercising them is free and we will answer within one month.

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict what we do with it, ask for it in a portable form, and object to our relying on legitimate interests. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time without having to explain why.

Write to Support@logridge.com and say what you want. If we get it wrong you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, though we would rather you gave us the chance to put it right first.

Next step

Something here not clear?

Ask us. A privacy notice nobody can follow is not doing its job, and we would rather rewrite the paragraph than leave you guessing.
