Copper cathode is the reference form, traded against LME Grade A specification BS EN 1978:1998 (CU-CATH-1) and priced on the LME cash settlement plus a physical premium that varies by delivery region. Brand matters: LME-registered brands are deliverable against exchange contracts and non-registered brands are not, which affects both price and financeability.

One thing to watch. Cathode fraud, whether warehouse receipts against material that is not present or non-registered brand substituted for Grade A, is a recurring loss event. Independent warehouse inspection before payment is standard on every Logridge copper transaction.

We appoint an independent inspection agency at origin. They check quantity, quality against what was contracted, and the condition of the packaging, all before the shipment is released for loading. That certificate is what any later claim rests on.
